While our modded Xbox One controllers and our modded Xbox 360 controllers are perfect for the Halo saga. Today we are looking at a different kind of Halo game!
Halo Spartan Assault (2013) Xbox 360, Xbox One, PCHalo Spartan Assault is a very different kind of Halo game. Microsoft had success with the other spin off Halo game, Halo Wars. So it was decided to try something different once again with the Halo series. Released in 2013 as a downloadable title, the game offered 25 missions of shooting action.
Halo Spartan Assault is a top down, twin stick, arcade style shooter. Think of Smash TV and you will have a good idea of what to expect. One analog stick controls movement and the other controls your shooting. It can take a little while to get used to, but once you do it is second nature.
The idea of this game is that it is just balls to the wall action, shoot what you can and survive as long as you can. With plenty of power ups to pick up, you really do feel like you are a powerful Spartan as you take down wave after wave of Covenant soldiers.
The story of the game is set between the events of Halo 3 and 4. You play the role of Edward Davis and Sarah Palmer and despite the game being an arcade style shooter. The story is pretty interesting and if you are a fan of Halo, you will get a real kick out of seeing the story fleshed out just that little bit more.
Halo Spartan Assault is a fun game, but a game that not everyone was super into at the time it was released. If you like arcade style shooters then you will have a lot of fun with this. If you just want more FPS action, Halo Spartan Assault may not be for you.
Halo is THE Xbox franchise and a game that is certainly made even more awesome with our modded Xbox One controllers and our modded Xbox 360 controllers join us as we look at the start of a new Halo trilogy!
Halo 4 (2012) Xbox 360343 Industries would once again be at the helm and this was a whole new start in the Halo universe, this is the start of what is known as The Reclaimer trilogy and to say Halo fans were excited is a huge understatement.
Master Chief awakens after being in a state of cryostasis for four years and is on the world of Requiem. Which is a Forerunner world. Here he must fight off a new group of The Covenant and even worse, a whole new evil that has just been awoken! The story was far more cinematic than the previous games and its look to the past of the Halo universe was certainly something many people felt was really cool. Cortana, Master Chief’s AI companion also went through some major changes in this game and seeing her change was really, really cool. Cortana was always an important part of the Halo story, but 343 Industries really did give her more of the limelight than she had have before.
Halo 4 is one of the if not the best looking game on the Xbox 360. The level of detail in the different environments is just staggering. But it is the character models that really blow you away. At first glance, you may think these are actual actors you are looking at!
Halo 4, of course, was huge in terms of its multiplayer. Players loved how there was a real progression in the multiplayer as you would move up to higher ranks, the better you did in the various multiplayer modes.
Most people felt that 343 Industries did an amazing job with Halo 4 and were very excited to see the next installment of the Reclaimer Trilogy.
