Our modded Xbox One controllers and our modded Xbox 360 controllers are the best way to experience pretty much any first person shooter and we are looking at the origins of one of the biggest first person shooters of all time!
Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary (2011) Xbox 360By this point, Bungie was gone and it would be 343 Industries who Microsoft would hand the Halo reigns to. This remake of the first game would be their first chance to win over Halo fans.
The first Halo game was a monster hit and this anniversary edition took the original game and remastered it. The visuals were breathtaking and it really did bring the original Halo up to what the other games had become. The visuals really were incredible, but one of the most amazing features of this game was how with the press of a button, you could turn the graphics back to the old style! This was really cool and it was amazing to see just how much work the team had done to improve the visuals.
The game featured the whole campaign and the new visuals really did make you feel like you were experiencing it again for the first time. For the multiplayer, they basically just took what Halo Reach offered and repackaged it here, but to be honest that was not a bad thing at all.
While not a brand new Halo game. Many fans were very happy with Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary. They felt that it was a great first attempt for the folks at 343 Studios and many felt comfortable with the series in their hands.
Halo is one of the best first person shooters that can be used with our modded Xbox One controllers and our modded Xbox 360 controllers and today we are taking another look back at the history of this awesome series.
Halo Reach (2010) Xbox 360The Fall Of Reach is one of the major turning points in the Halo lore and for the 6th Halo game, we got this prequel that was set before the events of the first game, Halo Reach. Halo Reach is notable for many reasons, one of which is that this was the last game in the franchise that Bungie would be at the helm for.
The story in Halo Reach follows Nobel Team which is an elite group of Spartans (no Master Chief here) who are on the Planet Of Reach and are trying to figure out what is going on. Players play as Nobel 6 who is trying to uncover what is going one. One of the best things about the story is the comradery you get between the Spartans. The Covenant have invaded the planet and you need to try and stop them. Of course, if you have played Halo before, you know how the story pans out, but that does not matter at all as it is very engrossing and the ending sequence is one of the most dramatic in the entire Halo series and usually the first thing people remember about this game.
Along with the fantastic single player campaign (which you could also play in multiplayer by the way), Halo Reach featured many of the classic modes like capture the flag and team death match along with fun new ones such as headhunter.
Halo Reach is a fantastic game and one of the more under rated in the series if we are being honest. It makes you think just how different the events in the Halo Universe could have been had Nobel Team survived!
